Milan, Italy- Last Supper Tickets

This forum has been very helpful in planning our upcoming trip to Italy, Switzerland, and France. During our stop in Milan, we are hoping to see the Last Supper painting. We have called the numbers and despite most of the information being in Italian, I think we have gathered that it is booked. I am wondering if any of you professionals have any tips for getting in to see this exhibit on either the 16th or 17th of June (Saturday or Sunday). We would rather not pay the extremely high price that is advertised that includes a full tour but is very expensive. Help? Thank you!

Are you staying in Milan? If so, your hotel concierge may be able to get you tickets. Try to get them for the 16th (in case there is a strike and you cannot see it that day) and have the 17th as a fall back. If all else fails, take the tour. This is a masterpiece that should not be missed.

I think you're too late for direct tickets which went on sale in early March. There are still tickets available for June 3rd, 10th and 13th.

Check with www.selectitaly.com and see if they can get tickets for you.

If you arrive in Milan and you still don't have tickets, one of my Italian teachers has successfully used the following: He approached a guide for a tour company and asked them if they had any extra tickets they wanted to sell. Apparently the tour companies buy in block and may have tickets left over if tours did not sell out. He did this outside of the entrance to the Last Supper.
