Milan: Are Taxis easy to find at Milano Cadorna terminus at night?
Hi,
We arrive at MXP at 830pm on a tuesday and need a quick convenient way to get to our accommodation B&B Hotel MILANO Sant'Ambrogio at Via degli Olivetani 4 20123 Milan. The hotel website says "From Malpensa airport: Take the “Malpensa Express” shuttle train service and alight at the Milano Cadorna terminus. From there take the MM2 subway in the direction of Abbiategrasso and alight at Sant’Ambrogio".
Instead of catching the subway, are there taxis waiting and easy to find at the Milano Cardona Terminus area at ~10-11pm at night on a tuesday?
We will have a fair bit of luggage (2 large suitcases, hand luggage, toddler, car seat and stroller) and would like to most efficient yet not crazy expensive way to get to our hotel. A taxi all the way will cost us over $100. Although we are going to hire a car, we were going to do this when we leave Milan (car hire greater than $100 a day plus parking in milan is $$$)
Any transport advice will be helpful.
Thank you

From Yahoo answers:
Camminando lungo la banchina, appena superata la testa del treno, vedrai che sulla destra c'è un'uscita. Dopo passati i tornelli, fai pochi passi e trovi subito i taxi.La via dove sono parcheggiati si chiama: via Leopardi. Se per caso non ce ne fosse pronto nemmeno uno, non ti scoraggiare, arrivano in continuazione.
Otherwise call your hotel to send you a taxi. Distance: 1km

Where the hell ARE those two "We know ALL About Italian trains" whiners when you need them?
Here's a translation that Neckervd forgot to include:
Walking along just past the head of the train, you'll see that there is an exit on the right. After passing through the turnstiles, just a few steps ahead is the the taxi (rank)on the street where they are parked:via Leopardi. If by chance there was not even ready for one, do not be discouraged, they are constantly arriving.
Now, does this thing say "they are constantly arriving even late at night? NO, it does not.
HOW MUCH did you pay for this trip? Get a taxi and be done with it IMO.

That says,
"Walking along the platform, as soon as you pass the head of the train, you'll see an exit on the right. After you've passed the turnstiles, after a few steps you'll see the taxis. The street is Via Leopardi. If you don't see a taxi, don't be discouraged. They arrive continually. "
Another website says there are taxis in Piazzale Luigi Cadorna, which would be the main piazza in front of the station. I would probably follow the signs in the station, which will surely indicate where the taxi queue is.
You could also take the train to Milano Centrale, which isn't much further from Sant'Ambrogio than is Cadorna station. There will be taxis all night at Milano Centrale.
In any case, the taxi from the airport may be the best solution. It's a bit expensive, but you'll all be tired and maybe it's worth it. There are also shuttle services, which will give you a firm price in advance.

From the main stations such as Milano Cadorna, Milano Centrale and Milano Porta Garibaldi there are always taxis available when the trains are running. Also, for Milan, 10-11 pm is not that late. For the time being there is still UBER.

I wouldn't take the subway with all your luggage can be quite a trek just navigating to get on the subway in Cadorna station. I've only been there during the day, but yes, there were taxis. If you do take the subway for some reason, be aware you are supposed to purchase subway tickets for your luggage. I'm not sure anyone does this though.
I would take the taxi from the airport as it is a set fee of 90E from the airport to Milan (any address within the city area). The train will cost 26€ for 2 so you wouldn't be paying that much more for door-to-door service. Just make sure it's an official taxi.

I would avoid the subway not because of what kybourbon says. The stairway to the subway is about 10 yards from the station exit and there are about 20 steps to the lower concourse where you buy your tickets - either from the autoatic vending machines or from the newsagent (which may be closed at that hour). There are about another 30 steps to the level of the trains. It is NOT a trek but if you are tired and have luggage as well as other items as you indicate, a taxi would be the easier choice.
As far as Milan is concerned official taxis are always white and will have a distinctive badge. Go to the taxi rank and avoid those wandering about in the terminal offering taxi rides to Milan - which is about the same advice in any location.

Thank you everyone- we might just end up ina taxi from mxp but it's good knowing this other option is possible and we can make a confident decision when we arrive depending on our state.
