This article in the Italian press reports that Meridiana Fly (now merged with Air Italy) has very recently had its operating license REVOKED by the Italian Civil Aviation Organization, and is currently operating under a TEMPORARY license.
The airline has also had five aircraft seized by the Rome Tribunal, on request of creditors for failure to pay bills.
Not a good sign at all......
Remember what happened to Windjet very recently?
Meridiana is reportedly attempting to raise more capital, and its founder and majority owner, Aga Khan, may come to the rescue.
In any case, I would exercise caution before booking flights on Meridiana without first thoroughly investigating the current states of affairs.
