Meeting spot at CDG
I've looked over the online maps for CDG but can't figure out a good spot to meet up with my Dad. My group is arriving at Terminal 2A at 9:45 am with carry on only. My dad arrives at Terminal 2A with checked luggage at 10:35 am. We are catching a train at 2 pm but will want to grab something to eat while we wait (hungry children in tow).
Suggestions welcome and thank you.

The lobby of the Sheraton hotel? There's only one of them, it's in terminal 2, and should your plane unexpectedly be diverted to a different terminal it would be easy to get to on the shuttle tram. If one plane is late, a comfortable place to wait.

Normally the first person to arrive goes to meet the flight of the second person to arrive. In case of delay, there is not even a need for a plan B, because the information is on all of the arrival boards. If the first flight doesn't arrive on time, the other person will see it on the board and go to meet the flight.
There are diagrams and maps of the terminals showing all of the eating places. I would not eat at the airport myself. Snacks are on sale everywhere and also on the train.

Thanks, everyone. I think we will just camp out where he will exit the checked luggage area. Then we can grab something to tide us all over through the train where I hope we can all get some sleep. We are not good plane sleepers!

It isn't really that long, a lot of my flights arrive a little early to France. But the area right outside the baggage claim area is nothing but a hallway, basically. I think there are a few seats over by the windows, though.

I like that little nook of a cafe at the entryway of the Sheraton. Comfy and it has toilets. Out in the lobby you can get lost.

Clearly you have no idea how far the Sheraton is from terminal 2A. It is much better for the group to meet up in 2A since they are all arriving there, and walk to the train station together, instead of craning their heads at every passing shadow in the Sheraton for an hour.

There is never a guarantee as to which terminal you will arrive. Depending on bumps, delays and missed connections, one of the party could be on another carrier than was booked, or three hours late. If not the Sheraton, at least find something easy to identify and more comfortable than a hallway.

Passengers will always be taken to the terminal where they are supposed to arrive, even if the plane is out in the boondocks, because the employees of the airline are all waiting for them at the usual place. Clarkgriswold, you don't really thing that all of the employees would go running to another terminal where they have none of their equipment, do you?
If people are transferred to another carrier, that is a completely different matter.

I can always send the kids and Grandma off to the train station and loiter myself at the baggage claim.
I'll go with back up plan B if we aren't able to meet. I'll email Dad his train ticket and we can always just meet there if worse comes to worse.

Right. So I looked it up. It is about 700 meters. However you have to walk it anyway. The Sheraton site says "You can also take the Train Grande Vitesse (TGV) with ease, as its station is directly below our hotel." Their map of CDG shows the hotel http://tinyurl.com/qdg2f3h. Zoom in for detail.

Good luck ever seeing them again. I remember trying to find the post office in that place. Mon Dieu! Nobody knew until I found a guy who spoke English and virtually walked me there.
And you can't go to baggage claim. You can go to the Customs exit door. Stop. How many exit doors are there? I forget. I know there are three at Schiphol which cost two lost souls hours of searching to no avail. That was me and my girl friend. We finally met up at her house.
The Sheraton cafe is just inside the hotel entrance. Nice comfy chairs and carpeting. Beverages available, and surely snacks.
