Hi Indovina, the first thing to note is that Medjugorje is not in Croatia, it is in Bosnia Herzegovina, which may have implications for visas depending on what passport you travel on.
As to Medjugorje itself, I think your reaction to the place will depend a lot on your personal religious beliefs. As a pilgrimage site the central church, and the various sites in the hills around the town are indeed special. However what spoils the place for me is the amount and type of commercial development in the town – in particular, far too many souvenir shops, cafés and restaurants.
