meal/food prices

Jump to last reply

My husband and I will be in Europe for 2 months...first 2 weeks in Ireland, then Germany, Czech Rep, Italy, Germany and a cruise. After reading numerous trip reports I am becoming concerned that the price of eating, particularly in Italy is outrageously expensive for our small budget. Can somebody give me a realistic budget...we are more than happy to pick up bread, wine, meats, cheeses etc at markets and do picnics. Neither of us are interested in huge typical many course Italian meals, but I'm having difficulty putting an approximate dollar figure to budget. WE will be in Venice for 3 nights for sure, then another 9 days probably in CT region and Tuscany hill towns. Thanks in advance!
