Martin Luther King had a dream... in Paris

Well, perhaps not, but at least he now has his own park in Paris, which I was delighted to visit yesterday. Only half of it has been completed so far, but when it is finished it will be larger than Parc Monceau.

It is in the new style of French parks -- lots of wild areas and natural flora and not much in the way of perfect flower beds.

You can check it out for yourselves here: http://tinyurl.com/mlkparis

Another lovely take on Paris and another lovely place to put on the list for the future because as many times as we visit, Paris is always on the list for the future.

Just breathtaking! I love the water and the gentleness of the landscape. I've never seen an insect hotel, although here in Dallas, at present, we are trying to rid ourselves of West Nile infected mosquitos...they're going to do aerial spraying...I'm not sure Texans would appreciate an insect hotel at this point : )

French municipal gardens are always so well cared for, but it takes a lot of work. This park looks like it was designed to be easier to maintain. I wonder how it'll look in the winter.

No, the two places are only about half a block apart, but the corner near the Square des Batignolles is still a total construction zone.
