Marriott Hotel Berlin
As this a a new hotel I would be interested in any comments on this accommodation in terms of service, quality, location, etc. as well as any other recommendations for the better hotels in Berlin. Thanks.

I have stayed at the Marriott Berlin a couple of times on both business and pleasure. I like the location, you can walk to the Bundstag, the Brandenberg Gate and most other interesting areas. It is also about 100 yards from the train station in Postdamerplatz. The rooms are a good size, they have a tiny pool and a small but adequate gym. Their restaurant is very good. The staff is helpful. I think it is a good choice for Berlin.

It is perfectly fine if you want to base yourself in that general area of Berlin...and I thgink many would agree it is one of the "better" hotels in the city, whatever you may mean by "better."

Heads up! This is a hotel that Priceline uses in Berlin. It's a 3-star and there's only one other hotel in the 3-star category in the same area in Berlin The other hotel looks just as nice as the Marriott to me, so if you willing to take a chance on getting either hotel, you could save a lot of money. If you're interested, go to www.bidding for travel.com and learn bidding strategy. I'm not connected to BFT or PL in any way.

An update for anyone interested in this hotel. I made a successful Priceline bid for USD 55/night for a weekend in mid-October. The rate through Orbitz was USD 220, Expedia was USD 363, Travelocity was USD 362. The Marriott website showed some availability at USD $139. I'm a happy camper, unless they put us in a broomcloset.
