I will be getting married in Italy next March. At the present time I am torn between two locations, each having a fabulous villa for the reception.
I was fortunate enough to have the chance to visit one, Villa di Maiano in Fiesole. The other is located in Fruili Venezia G..., and I was not able to get up there. Does anyone know what Fruili is like? Is there much to do in the area? Would I be isolating my guests by choosing this location?
Will the weather in either city be miserable in March?
Please help!

I'm not sure where you're asking about, but the spelling is FrIUli
Congratulations on your new life in marriage.
Best wishes,
Rex
The full name of the region from all the material I was sent is: Fruili-Venezia-Giulia
Have you been in either region in March? What type of weather should I expect?
No question--do Fiesole--fabulous !
Just in Italy this past March. Weather was great 50 in the morning and 60 late afternoon. No rain, could have been luck.
Judy,
just had 5 weeks in Italy, from Sorrento to Venice and all parts in between. (Early March to early April.)Had one day in Rome of rain, one day of partial rain each in Sorrento and Lucca. All the other days were fine, we were very lucky I think. Can't comment on your villa choices - sorry!
Kay
March in Italy can be bl.. cold - especially in the north! Go at least to central Italy. Get in touch, I might be able to give you some useful informations, ciao Martina
I don't want to argue with you, if you have information printed with this typo (is it possible you're just not looking at it correctly?)
but the correct speeeling is FrIUli - - NOT FrUIli
it's the same "yoo" syllable as Giulia.
Fr'yoo-lee and J'yoo-lee-yah
Fruili would be pronounced Fr-wee-lee if such a word existed.
Take a look at http://it.search.yahoo.com/search/it?p=venezia-giulia - - to see some of the available websites about this region.
Pedantically yours...
