March 2014 and Dublin

Jump to last reply

I know everyone is just as thrilled to see people already talking about St. Patrick's Day in January, ;-)
I'm finishing up a 14 day route for a March 2014 honeymoon spent in Ireland and I'm having a difficult time with how the new wife and I should spend St. Patrick's Day. Unfortunately our flight leaves early on the morning of the 18th and it's out of the Dublin airport. I should have been smart and booked our return flight home out of Shannon or Cork instead of Dublin and just paid the extra $300 for us both and saved the hassle, but it's too late now since tickets have already been bought. The problem I'm having is after reading things about Dublin on St. Patrick's Day, I'm having second thoughts about going to the Dublin festival. Where would you suggest us to be that has a festival/parade that is possible to attend and be able to make it the next morning for our flight home?
