Mandatory Health Insurance Clarification on Russian Visa Application
Hi
I am going to Russia in May and I have a question about the health insurance.on the visa application.
Do you have to get additional travel insurance to go to Russia or is your regular medical insurance policy valid as long as it is able to be used in Russia if needed?
Thank You

Check with your insurance company to find out what coverage you would have. Mine will reimburse my costs based on an out-of-network. Pretty sure I would have to pay for services first.
I am going to apply for a visa in a day or two. One of the three visa providers wanted copies of the front and back of the insurance card.
I chose to get separate insurance, though. Got the kind that pays to return your body home if you die or pays for a medical evacuation if you are really sick/injured (that was $83). On top of that I got medical insurance for the 10-day trip for an additional $29. I used SOS International thought I understand other insurance providers are cheaper.

What I meant to add when I wrote that was that my take is that making a copy of the front/back of my insurance card is enough to answer the insurance question on the visa app and no additional insurance is required.
