Was thinking of a week in Malta in Feb. with 13 year old son. I feel we need to stay in Valleta for things to do especially if we get 'iffy weather. Are there any 4/5 star hotels with indoor pool there or very close by ? Don't feel I want to have to jump on a bus every time we want to walk around town etc. Would be grateful for any suggestions.

I can't help you with hotels in Valletta but you should check this forum for threads on Malta. There isn't very much to do in Valletta in the evenings, it's kind of a business/daytime-only city. I stayed in Sliema and walked to St. Julian's Bay daily; there seemed to be a lot of nightlife there; of course, I have no idea what a 13 yr. old would enjoy. The buses in Malta are a trip, however, and go anywhere you'd want to go. If your son is history-minded, he'll love Malta.
