Mallorca 1 week
Dear, is it possible to have a great visit in Mallorca and around during a week?
My plan is just to relax, if possible scuba dive and visit Menorca.
Tnks a lot,
Juliano.

I spent a week riding a bike around the place, there are some good sites, a wine growing area, four or so monestries, a little train, an ancient glass blowing works plus loads of holiday "stuff", don't know what the diving is like

It's very possible as Mallorca is a great destination. If you want to Scuba dive then I'd recommend staying either in the Illetas area, on the end of the Bay of Palma quite near to Palma or on the North side of the island close to Puerto Pollenca.

The better diving is IME around Illetas and North up towards Deia.
You may want to stay in Pollenca itself, my favourite place on the island, for a good choice of hotels , restaurants and bars.
You can catch the ferry from Alcudia, just along the coast from Pollenca to go to Ciutadella, Menorca's old capital and a lovely place. It takes a couple of hours or so. You can go via Palma, but it takes much longer.

Tnks a lot, dive will not be my priority, just for fun. I wanna to rent a bike or scooter and travel around.
During this entire week will be possible to visit Menorca? I read that is about 3 hours by ferry.

I am not sure whether it is logical to visits Menorca as part of a week long stay on Mallorca.
We much prefer Mallorca in terms of culture, scenery, beaches, restaurants. There are some good dive sites but if you have dived anywhere else in the world most of the Med is fairly tame.
The island is a perfect size for day trips from any base and so it really doesn't matter where you base yourself in that respect. There is a developed road system with motorways which have reduced travel times considerably.
As Bilbo posted, it is a great place to cycle with very varied landscapes. Much of the centre and south of the island is flat with quiet roads. The north and west is very different with steep climbs. Due to the diversity of the landscape, climate and small(ish) size most of the pro road cycling teams use Mallorca as a training base.
The island has in the past had a reputation as a low end, party place. These resorts have already been fairly restricted to small areas, just avoid them, the rest of the island is solidly middle to high end with stunning scenery and great beaches.
