Malaga Hotel Recommendation
Does anyone (kimhe?) have a recommendation for a one night hotel stay in Malaga in early September this year - no more that a 100/120 euro price tag for a double room. Mainly want to chill and perhaps see a couple of sights. Will be coming in via bus from Ronda and will be leaving early the next day via bus or train to Granada.

Don Curro is great value (some 80€) and the best location. All the most obvious sights are within five minutes walk, and there are bars, cafés, restaurants in abundance on your doorstep. Taxi stand 50 meters from the hotel, and a taxi will take you to the María Zambrana train station in five minutes (about 5€). The bus to the train station (no. 19 if I don't remember wrong) also stops less than 100 meters from the hotel. http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/hoteldoncurro.en.html
For a one-nighter, I often stay at next door Hostal Victoria, basic but all hotel amenities and nice staff. Some 50€: http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/victoria.en.html

This thread is timely for me, too. I hope you do not mind that I ask a few questions. I will arrive by car, drop the car at the rental office, and travel to the airport after a two-night stay in Malaga.
How is the location of the Vincci Posada? Walking distance to center of city?
Transport to the airport from the hotel?
Many thanks!

The fires were still burning west of Malaga as of this morning.
"The fire started on Thursday afternoon in the Sierra Negra area of Coin, near Malaga and has now affected an area of some 1,000 hectares (2,471 acres)."

ekscrunchy,
Vincci Posada is in the center, 200 meters from Plaza de la Conctitución, the very nucleus of the city.

And the fire is now apparently under control, 1500 hectares affected. The worst fire ever in the Málaga region.

I second the Don Curro. I have stayed there twice, once for 3 days, and once for 8 days. The price is right--about $100 per night for a double, with an included breakfast buffet.
It's very close to la Avenida Principal and also to the harbor. I really like this hotel!

Thanks, all.
I have tried to redeem the TripAdvisor offer of a free breakfast with room booking at the Vincci Posada del Patio. There appears to be glitch either on their website (one of several), or on the TA site, that makes it unable to book the offer.
I've written two e-mails to the hotel with no response. Does anyone have a direct e-mail address for an appropriate person at the hotel?
Danon, thanks for the tip on the non-street-side rooms. Anyone else have tips for specific rooms, or floors at the Posada del Patio?
