Madrid New Restaurant Suggestions
Hi I'm starting a new post on this as all others seem a bit old.
We'd like suggestions for interesting restaurants with good ambience and great food. Prefer local cuisine or at least Spanish. Not super luxury or too traditional.....around 50 euros pp. would be good.
Last time we tried the very classic Sobrino de Botin which we found a bit too touristy and the ultra experimental Club Allard which was a bit too...well....experimental!
Any suggestions for something in between?
Thanks

My recommendation is 'Quintana 30'. Traditional Basque dishes with a twist.

This is an interesting resource:

(Basques wouldn't necessarily be happy to hear their cuisine described as local to Madrid or Spanish)

Although I began this thread before my last trip two years ago, there are still a few good ideas contained within.
I will be there for a few days next month and have a few places penciled in; will look forward to the responses on this current thread... The area east of Retiro is a good one if you have not been before...
Madrid is a fabulous eating city, but you already know that!
