Can anyone tell me what is the easiest and cheapest way to get downtown from the airport? I've seen some airport bus services listed for $55.00 per person. That seems high to me. Looking for suggestions.
Thanks,
Madrid Airport to downtown

Do a search in Europe forum. This thread has been discussed a number of times. The metro will take you to downtown at a cost of 2 euros pp, however, ease depends on how much luggage you have. I have done with roller bag and carryon with no problem. The 200 bus leaving from all airport terminals also gets you to downtown. 1st stop from airport is Canillejas where you can pick up the Metro 5 line. 3nd (last)stop is Avenida de la America where you can also connect to the Metro lines 4-6-7 and 9. Cost is 1 euro to stop 1 and 2 euros to end.
