Lyon accommodation for family?

I plan to spend 7 to 10 days in Lyon (or surrounds)with my wife and 3 young children (ages 5, 3, 1yrs) starting Feb 22nd, 2003. I will be doing some business in the city, so we are looking for accessible accommodation that is safe and comfortable. Can anyone suggest anything or anywhere to try? We would be planning to do some sightseeing also, and are wondering about renting a car vs using the train with the kids. Thanks
