Luzern Station

I will carry a 30" hardside suitcase and want to keep the suitcase in the Luzern Station for few hours. Are big-size lockers available in the station? Please advice.

Thanks.

Luzern has a "Gepäckschalter" (Check-in) area in the ticket office that is staffed from 7am-7pm M-F& 8am S-S; You pay a nominal fee and they will hold your bags. They have lockers across from the ticket office (SBB Reiseburo), near the restrooms. But I'm not sure they hold 30 inch bags.

Here is the web address to the layout of the Luzern train station:

I know for a fact that the Luzern lockers are big enough to hold 29" hard sided suitcases, and I suspect a 30" would fit as well. We stored two 29" Samsonite suitcases in ONE of the largest lockers at the Luzern Hauftbahnhof. The time limit is 24 hours and I think the cost was about 5 CHF.

Hi. JN, how did you find the Luzern station map at the sbb.ch site? I've been looking for others, but can't seem to locate them at the website map. Thanks, J.

To get the station plans from the Swiss trains site:

From http://www.sbb.ch/en/index.htm, click on "travel", leftmost in the gray stripe.

Then click on "services" in gray under "The Market for Travel"

Then click on "More at the Station" under "services" on the left.

Then click on "Your nearest stations"

Then click on the area where your city is

Then click on the city name on the map

If there is a map, it will be listed as "Situationsplan" under "Information" in the blue stripe; clicking on that will bring up the pdf file.
