Luzern: Quiet hotel in August, close to train & Bahnhofplatz?

Jump to last reply

Can anyone recommend a hotel which has a Quiet room in Luzern for a 2 night stay? Our visit is in early August, and we either need A/C or a quiet room which is well ventilated, so we won't cook at night. Prefer to stay within easy walking distance of the train and the Bahnhofplatz.

I can't do much walking on cobblestones, as they hurt my feet...I wear custom orthotics for feet problems. I do much better walking in nature, actually. That's why I want to sleep within an easy walk of Luzern's transportation hub.

We loved Luzern on our 1st visit to Switzerland, because I was able to enjoy the boat rides and nearby mountains, without having to walk too much on cobblestones. We stayed at the Wilden Mann, and they did provide us with a portable A/C. However, I'd like to stay closer to the train and the Bahnhofplatz, to minimize walking on cobblestones.

With only 2 nights, we will either do the boats on the lakes again, or else head up a nearby mountain....

This comes at the end of our trip to Paris & the Bernese Oberland. We fly home out of Zurich. We won't have a car, and will be using the trains.

I'm considering the Hotel des Balances? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Our itinerary:
Fly from LAX to Paris
8 nights: Paris
Train to Murren, Switzerland
7 nights: Murren, Switzerland
Train to Luzern
2 nights: Luzern
Train to Zurich airport: Fly home

It will be our 1st visit to Paris, and our 2nd visit to Switzerland.
