We received a recommendation for the following place:
RISTORANTE ENOTECA BOTTEGA DEL VINO
Via Scudo di Francia 3 - 37121 Verona - P.Iva 01294220239

We're not travelling until the 14th of October though so I can't vouch for it yet!

I can vouch for Bottega del Vino. Their Amarone risotto was one of the best meals I can remember, anywhere. La Greppia is nice as well.

Jocelyn,
Are reservations required for lunch at Bottega del Vino?

swalter, I believe so. We walked in before they started serving lunch, and they asked for our name so they could have a table ready for us when we returned. The atmosphere and service are absolutely wonderful, and it's a wine lover's paradise.

Ristorante Greppia is nice and I thought their prices were great too. Their menu and wine list is online.
www.ristorantegreppia.com

My daughter is a big fan of CSI and the actor that plays Grissom was having lunch there when we were.

thanks to all for your advice about lunch in verona , i'll try to reach bottega del vino for a reservation .
if anyone has a suggestion about parking while in verona this could come in handy , parking on the street or in some paid lot .

Whatever you do about parking, don't park illegally. I've been tracked down every time. Years later, sometime. You MUST have a reservation at Bodega del vino....maybe not for lunch absolutely. But try. I agree about the risotto. Very informal. The Accademmia is more formal, but wonderful and traditional.
I love Verona. I'll be there in a few days.
