Luggage Transfer for Hiking along Amalfi Coast
Hi,
I would like to spend a few days (3-4) hiking between the villages along the Amalfi Coast. I do not want to do a tour company that includes hotels and food, but I do need my luggage transferred between villages so I don't have to carry it. Does any one know of a service like this without buying a whole tour package? Thanks for any info!

Well we do need to know more about your plan. It can be quite easy to do a hike and then return to your base by bus or ferry, and a lot of the hikes are good circular routes. So, let us know more detail--you may not necessarily need to change hotels.

I agree with Yorkshire (and with Sandra's suggestion). The most famous of the hikes on the AC - the Path of the Gods, going from above Positano to above Amalfi - only takes about 3-4 hours and you can travel between Positano and Amalfi very easily by ferry (35 minute ride).

I had originally hoped to do something similar to your proposed trip and had started by looking at tour companies. We only had 5 days available, though, and for that and other reasons decided to base in one town (Atrani) and venture out from there (Path of the Gods, Valle dei Mulini and Ravello-Atrani).
It seems some of the tour companies use a few bases rather than point to point hiking. If you have some routes in mind that work for point to point hiking, then hiring your own taxi/limo as mentioned above makes sense.
Otherwise, a few bases along the coast and using public transport works nicely. There are supposed to be some wonderful hikes on Capri, so you might look into that as a possible second base if you go that route.
We used the Cicerone guide (Walking on the Amalfi COast)for our hikes. Sunflower guides are also popular.
