LUGGAGE LOST IN PRAGUE
I just arrived in Prague to cold & rain & my coat is in my luggage which SkyEurope lost. I can't seem to find out what the policy is on relpacing the contents of my luggage. I need warm clothes because I just flew in from a warm climate & I'm freezing. Do they reimburse me, or do I have to foot the bill for necessities (including a coat or warm jacket)? Thanks

Hi SKIDDY, I have no idea as to what SkyEurope's obligation is but do make sure that you get a written report on your "lost" luggage and make sure that anything you are told by the airline employees is in writing so that you have written documentation. Best wishes.

I assume you've already filed the claim with the airline? They should have told you what you were allowed.
When Alitalia lost mine bags a few years ago for 5 days - they have me money up front at the airport and then I had to fight tooth and nail for the 50% reimbursement when I got home (I think it was up to 300 US or something - because they did eventually get my bag to me).
I tried to look through SkyEurope's website for you - but the rules of carriage wasn't downloading for me for some reason.

You really need to ask Skyeurope what you can buy and what they will reimburse.
I only had this happen once (Aer Lingus), and they paid for me to buy a new pair of shoes because I had an event to go out to that night and my daytime shoes were too casual. I had a Tshirt, underwear and something else to wear in my carryon, so I was very reasonable and only asked for shoe costs. They paid in full, but I had to submit the claim with explanation and they reimbursed me. That wasn't lost luggage, just delayed a day.
At least Prague isn't too expensive, go buy yourself a cheap coat in Tesco's or something near Wenceslas Square. There is also a cheap clothing bazaar, thrift store type, in the main train station M-F, sort of street-market vendor style.

I copied and pasted this information for you from SkyEurope's web site:
After arrival
Claims
Should you have any problems complications with your baggage, please contact the SkyEurope representative at the airport upon your arrival.
The passenger must complain to the carrier immediately after he/she discovers any damage, within 7 days at the latest. Baggage claims are to be made in the arrival hall at the "Baggage claim counter". SkyEurope Airlines staff, or our agent, will issue to you a PIR form where you must present the relevant portion of your boarding card and baggage tag. He will also inform you about the processing of your claim. Claims for damages expire 2 years after arrival at the destination, or estimated arrival, or 2 years after the carriage was terminated.

Thanks for the effort. Before I posted I had found & read the web site. Unfortunately they do not talk about reimburesment. I had hoped someone would have had an experience with this airline & could give me an idea of what to expect.
