I went on a plugged in some dates (within the window) for Philadelphia to Frankfurt, selected plus or minus three days based on price and was quoted over $7,200 for two economy class tickets.
Not much of a sale.
Maybe I need more information on what the sale actually entails.

I used the second link given, entered Departure date of November 28 and return date of December 7 (plus or minus 3 days) from SFO to FCO(Rome) and got a rate of $844 if I departed on November 28 and returned on December 8.
If I used kayak and plugged same dates and out of my local terminal it would cost me $889 using American Airlines with a layover at LAX and JFK before reaching FCO.(more layovers, longer travel time)
Priceline gave me a range from $1100 to $1300, which included my flight from my local terminal to LAX,then to LHR to FCO.(I picked British Air, which was the high end, just for flight details)I didn't have an option of Lufthansa here for comparison.
By the time I factored in the time and cost to get to SFO, it didn't turn out to be a deal for me, in comparison with kayak.
The fact that I'm not near a major airport is what kills any potential bargains for me.

fieldtrip - thanks. Do appreciate your posting. It probably worked for some, but we couldn't make it work either. Going to ATH next month and I've been looking at fares since mid-summer (IAH-FRA-ATH). LH has been at the $840 level for several weeks. The sale price was $815 and required an overnight in FRA, so wasn't worth it. But thanks again.

Not sure how good it is, but from the LH sale we are headed to Munich over Thanksgiving for $1113.38 for the two of us--$556.69 each. Breaks down as $273.00 for each ticket, plus 283.69 for taxes, fees, and charges each.
