Can someone advise me what is the best train schedule if I travel from Lucerne to Basel and then from Basel to Paris through TGV. I have to go Paris Airport to pick my flight at 12:00PM on June 26th. So I have to be there atleast 9:00AM in the morning. When should I check out the hotel on 25th of June. How I can schedule to go from Lucerne on 25th.

Go to http://fahrplan.sbb.ch/bin/query.exe/en - the english version of the Swiss Railways website, and if you get the same results I'm looking at, you have a very good connection leaving Lucerne at 11:54, arriving in Basel at 12:55, giving you time for a cup of coffee, leaving Basel at13:21, arr. Strasbourg Ville at 14:39, leaving at 14:47 and arriving in Paris-Est at 16:35.

For the stretch from Strasbourg to Paris you will be on the high=speed TGV train that comes with automatic seat reservation. The other two legs don't require that.

If you have LOTS of bags and wish to make only one switch of trains, take the 10AM train, you change in Lausanne, but it takes a lot longer, getting into Paris Gare de Lyon at 16:03.

Not sure about the OP's question. You don't want to stay the night of 25th in Paris?

If you ARE staying the night in Paris, there are TGV trains goes direct from Zurich ( via Basel) to Paris so you don't need to think of change at Strassbourg.

If you DO mean you want to go straight from Lucerne to Paris (CDG?) Airport, that would be a bit or far more complicated.

I want to take any TGV train from Basel to Paris on 25th night to reach in Paris by 9:00Am.
I visited http://fahrplan.sbb.ch/bin/query.exe/en to see the timing but I don't see 'ÁM' or 'PM' in the timing. And what time should I put in 'Time:' field to search?

I use 24hrs as most do in Europe.

You don't have much choice. Fistly there is no night TGV train.

What do you do in Basel for 5 hours? I think the station will close during the late/early hours. Even if it did not I would hate to spend the time in the station without sleep ( or sleep on the floor like homeless people.) Or if you are young, would you?

Now that you've clarified for us what it is you wish to do we can tell you that it can't be done. You will need to spend the night of the 25th in Paris, preferably right out in the Roissy area by the airport for your early check-in.

So go back to the trains listed for the 25th - all times are in 24-hour mode (deduct twelve from any number over 12 and you get your PM times) and pick one that suits you - getting into Paris in time to make the transfer out to the Roissy region to get to your hotel.

You may also take a late afternoon/evening train to Strasbourg or Dijon, sleep there and reach Paris CDG the next morning by direct airport bound TGV (Strasbourg dp 6.08 resp Dijon dp 7.06)

You should take the train from Lucerne to Zurich on the 25th, stay overnight and then catch the 7:40 am flight on Air France to CDG which arrives around 9 am and costs less than 50 euro.

I don't understand your question about when you should check out of a hotel, you don't really have much choice. Hotels will require you to check out usually by around noon.

Alternatively, you can take the 4:55 am train from Luzern direct to Zurich airport, arriving 6:13 am. That should work for a 7:40 am flight within Europe. That would save hotel complications.

I was thinking op wants to save expense by moving from lucerne to paris without overnight inbetween. Obviously there is not that choice.

there used to be a Zurich-Paris proper night train but that was scrubbed long ago.

Always always get to your airport departure city the night before your flight -never know when train strikes, disruptions, etc may occur.
