Lucerne Switzerland Meal Recommendations
My husband and I have spent the last 2 days in Lucerne and have been very frugal with our money. We have one more full day and want to splurge on an amazing meal. We've already seen how expensive meals are at restaurants, so we want to make sure the food is excellent! With about 100 francs to spend...who can recommend a place where we are GUARANTEED a delicious meal? We would prefer a local specialty, but are open to anything! Thank you!!

I visited Lucerne this summer and dined twice at Wirtshaus Taube. It is central and near the river. In fact, the one night we ate outside at a table directly along the river. It appears they have their fall menu posted. Under the German descriptions, there are English translations. Looks like they are offering some game dishes. That is the extent of my experience. No guarantees, but I enjoyed it enough to go back.

La Fenice is a favorite of ours. It is Italian food. Their pizza is excellent, nice wine selection as well. Also can recommend their caprese salad.
The Swiss House, near the lion monument, is also a great place. We like to have their white asparagus, when it is in season. You can make a meal of it....

Des Balance five course Prix Fixe is listed at 105chf. If "about 100 francs" means for both, this is way over.
Of course "a delicious meal" is a very subjective term. Many meals I consider "delicious" are inedible for others. Furthermore "GUARANTEED" is something even more elusive especially when allied to something so subjective.

Just returned from a 3 week trip and one of the best meals was at Des Balance. Best dish of the trip, by far, was the amuse bouche of poached lobster with cucumbers and mayo-mustardy thing.
The dining room is quiet, the service is top notch.

A few years ago, I had a wonderful splurge meal at the Burgerstube im Hotel Wilden Mann, which still gets very good reviews. I had a Lucerne specialty called Chügelipastete – veal and musrooms with a cream sauce in a puff pasty. Of course, I can't guarantee what YOU will think of it or find on its menu; I can only speak to my experience and direct you to check out the restaurant and its reviews.
Good luck!

We always eat at des Balance when in Lucern and the food is great.
Also on the other side of the river we have often eaten in the Wilden Mann. They have both a more elegant restaurant and a stube for more casual dining. Not sure of the prices - and not sure if your budget is for one or two - but the food is excellent. I recall one lunch when we had just pulled into Lucern at lunch and the absolute best asparagus soup I have ever had in my entire life.
