Thanks to recommendations here and a very nice write up in Rick Steves, we have booked a week at Le Mas Perreal in Saint Saturnin. Most of our days are planned already with two markets (Isle-sur-Sorgue and Sault), lots of villages, a couple of long hikes, bike-riding on the old rail tracks, one day in the Alpilles, and even some down time around the pool !
Still have one day left to think about and my DH would very much love to see the Med. Looks like the closest to get to is Cassis. According to google, it's about 1 1/2 hours. Has anyone done this ? Is it possible as a day trip ? Or should we considering staying overnight there ?
Many thanks in advance.

We did a day trip there from Roussillon. It took between 1.5 and 2 hrs to drive there. We did a boat tour of the Calanques and had lunch on the waterfront harbor, then walked around the town and left late afternoon. It was a good day to spend a Sunday or Monday since not much happening in other towns. An overnight would give you more time to spend but we felt we saw enough in a full day.
Have a wonderful trip.
Winnick,
Thank you so much. Great to hear Cassis is possible as a day trip. That's what we'll do.
Thanks again.
