Lowndes Hotel

Planning a trip to London in November. BA is offering a 15% off if booked by 8/21/05. One of the hotel choices is the Lowndes with full breakfast. Tripadvisor gives it excellent reviews but was wondering if any fodorites have stayed there recently and if so, what their opinions are. Thanks for your help.

I haven't stayed there but have gone to several Sunday antique sales in their meeting rooms. I love the location and the public rooms are very very nice so I assume the bedrooms would be as well.

I had this on a short list for our trip...do you have to be flying BA to take advvantage of the discount?

Not stayed there but it seems very nice. Bedrooms not massive but clean and comfortable with polite helpful staff.
You can also use the facilities at the same ownerships 5 star hotel almost opposite.

Jody, Lowndes rate was through BA with a 15% discount. However, you have to book by tomorrow.

jody, the deal redhat mentioned is on www.baholidays.com. I haven't tried booking, but from the way the website is set up, it looks to me as if you can take advantage of the 15% off deal on hotels even if you're not flying BA.

I stayed at the Lowndes on a BA deal but it has been two years ago.

The room was not large but very clean with lots of amenities in the bathroom.

The halls are very quiet. The staff is very attentive.

The breakfast was wonderful and could carry you for most of the day it is very generous.

At was my first very short trip to London and I was thrilled with this hotel. Hope this helps.

www.lowndeshotel.com/

I haven't stayed there, but it has been on my short list for a while as well. It is very close to the Knightsbridge tube station, so that's a good location.
