Low Cost Intra-Europe Flights

I'm trying to plan a trip to Italy for next spring, but I have restrictions since we're using frequent flyer awards. I have limited arrival destinations so I'm looking for cheap flights from our arrival location (probably Lisbon) to our trip starting point, Palermo. I've checked the usual sites, such as Travelocity, and found it would be cheaper to pay for my fare from the U S to Palermo. I would welcome any help with European low cost air fares.

The European low cost carriers are mostly based in the UK or Ireland. (easyJet, RyanAir, Go, Debonair)
Their main routes are UK/Ireland to popular continental destinations. Lisbon to Palermo is not a popular route at all, so I doubt you will find low fares for your trip. It could even be cheaper to fly via the UK!
Phil:

There is a European Airpass that allows 99$ flights between major European cities. Unfortunately, I am unable to locate the website. I will continue looking and forward if found. Suggest you search on the web as well.

Larry

The EuropeByAir website has changed a bit- they now allow people to buy the airpasses from within Europe- not just from USA- so its been updated- by try this URL http://www.europebyair.com/neu/netmap_pass.htm

You click on the city you want and it instantly tells you where they fly to from that city. For instance Lisbon- click on it and you can see ther eis no direct route to Palermo. The only way I see to get to Palermo is from Venice. There may be a major airline that does fly direct by not via the air pass system. You have to go Lisbon, Venice then Palermo, which you take two passes, so $198 one way.
