Looking for itinerary advice: Luxembourg

I posted here recently trying to figure out a good itinerary for our trip to Luxembourg to visit our son. He is studying in Lux, and has a week off to travel with us. We arrive on a Thursday, and leave on the following Saturday. So 8 days total to travel with him. We arrive in Brussels on Thursday morning, and plan to train immediately to Lux to meet up with him. Staying only one night here, to see the University's Chateau, and Lux City. Then plan to leave on Friday morning. Was thinking of possibly training to Cologne, then on to Amsterdam, then possibly to Ghent, AND/OR Antwerp (maybe not both); then to Bruges. We have to fly out of Brussels on Saturday, so will need to end up there eventually. Is this a feasible itinerary? Is there another place that would be more worth visiting then the ones I have mentioned? I would greatly appreciate any additional advice that any of you may wish to share! Thanks so much!
