Our oldest son is finishing his freshman year of college with our next son getting ready for his senior year of high school and our daughter prepares to enter high school. We are looking for guidance for a European vacation of 12-14 days this summer during the last week of June through the first week of July. Thoughts currently are London & Paris with a possible final destination of Amsterdam. Possibly Italy or Spain instead. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

When our children were 18, 16 and 13 we took them on a similar trip before the oldest left for college. We spent a week each in London and Paris, took some daytrips from both, connected to Paris via Eurostar. We had not traveled much in Europe ourselves, and I think it made for a good trip for everyone. It could have been any two other cities in retrospect, but I am glad we did not move around much. Also London was a good first city given language. They have all since traveled more in the world, back to Europe for all, Australia for one and SE Asia for another. While we have taken family vacations since, never got back to Europe with the kids, who are now married and we also have grandchildren. Guess schedules and travel costs will keep that from happening in the near future, family of 5 now family of 12, so plan a great trip and enjoy every minute.
A week in Paris and a week in the Dordogne.
