Looking for designer knock-offs in London
I leave for the U.K. in one wk., and one of my relatives asked me to look for a Vuitton bag. Are there knock-offs available in London or environs? I know Rome and Paris have them, but can't find info on anything in London.
Thanks for the help.

I don't think so -- I've wandered all the places one would expect to find knock-offs in London, and none exist. The best selection I know of can be found on Canal Street in New York City, between Mulberry Street and Broadway.
Good Luck!

In last Sunday's Los Angeles Times travel section there was an article about a store in Oxford Circus called Topshop that might be what your're looking for. Or maybe one of the street markets (Petticoat Lane, Camden Lock, Portobello Road) might yield what you seek.

occasionally you get guys standing around the entrance to the Tube Station on Oxford Street selling designer knock-offs. You may be lucky and catch one while you're there, however I'm not sure they'd be selling Vuitton fakes anymore as they're a bit passé now.
Topshop definitely won't have them - they're a high street store where you'll get trendy clothes & accessories (the one on Oxford Street is fantastic).

songster - London isn't really a knock-offs place. I know what you mean by Paris and Rome - the guys who set up on any piece of pavement and flog cheap knock-offs, but I think London police are a bit more vigilant about keeping the streets clear of illegal traders. The only place I can think that may help would be Camden Market, but no guarantees.
Cailin's right about Top Shop - it's a big own label fashion store (biggest single brand fashion store in the world apparently) - great for cheap, up to the minute fashion, but no fake brands.
