looking for a decently priced accomodation in Barrio Santa Cruz (Sevilla)

I will be in Seville a few nights in late February and need a room for my wife and I. Could be a hotel; could be an apartment or Inn, or B&B...doesnt really matter.

We are travelling a lot next year, so price is important (under 120 USD if I can). I am looking into options from Maribels guide (awesome, as usual)...but wondering if anyone has any comments or suggestions about a property in Santa Cruz.

The area sounds great, and my wife settled on it...so there's no going back on the location....although we do plan to go to Triana too.

Thanks,

bk

I liked Hotel Amadeus pretty well, which is a small 2* hotel in Santa Cruz (B&Bish, but it's not one and no breakfast is included), but even in February, I think it's a bit more than that rate (which right now is only 94 euro, but who knows what it will be in February).

Still, it's pretty close and would be a good option for you, their doubles are 98-114 euro in Feb. 2009.

Jose Zorilla stayed here while writing "Don Juan Tenorio". The place and street have an amazing ambience; the restaurant is good, too.

I stayed at Hotel Alcantara last year, which is right in the heart of Barrio Santa Cruz.

Low season (all of Feb) rates for a double is €73; €90 for a superior double.

It is quite basic.

Excellent choice of location and great hotel recommendations.

If you are interested in an apartment, we have rented apartments from sevilla5
several times and they are excellent to deal with, very friendly, speak English and apartments are super clean and well equipped. Usually a 3 night min stay.

madferit,
If the 3 star Alminar comes in at 120 USD for your dates, I would choose it, or if you want to spend less, the Amadeus.

Hi madferit; I goofed. In late February it will cost you more than $120US. If it was before February 22nd, it would be $113US. But during festival time the price goes up. You could still check their price. Sorry Iris

Hi; Actually the festivals are after Holy week and that is in April. We will be there then. You have been given good suggestions by others on hotels. You could also go to tripadvisor.com and plug in your dates. You can then chose [under $200] or [under $100] and see what results you get.
