Looking for a castle-hotel near Munich, suitable for two princesses!

My husband and I are taking our 2 girls, ages 6 and 8, to Munich this fall. I would like to find a castle-hotel to spend a night at as a day-trip from Munich. Does anyone have any suggestions?

One place that comes to mind is Leopoldskron which is located by Salzburg (www.schloss-leopoldskron.com). I have only seen the exterior which is beautiful. Certainly very historical.

Nearby Salzburg, is the Castle Werfen which is stunning to visit and has falconry demonstartuions in the nice weather. Your entire family will love visiting here and seeing the birsd of prey. Check out this photo at www.panoramio.com/photo/3735870. As far as I know, there are no overnight accomodations here but if you are in nearby Salzburg, it is well worth visiting.

More castle hotels can be reviewed at www.gast-im-schloss-hotel.com. Our personal favorite is Castle Hornberg in Neckarzimmern. This is really to far for a day trip.

Leopoldskron is occupied by the Salzburg Seminar and although "housing" is provided for attendees I am not certain they extend that to 'walk-in' guests.
