By car? Train? Have you considered exploring Birmingham itself?
Lots and LOTS of options. But yes, we'd need to know if you are driving or taking public transport.
We are driving and going up to the Brum to find housing for my son as his new job is up there for the next three years. Thanks!
OK -car, check. So in no particular order, here are some interesting/attractive towns/villages:
Woodstock, Chipping Campden, Burford. All are w/i a reasonable drive from LHR and to B'ham. Depending on what you want - Burford might be good. A very nice town - not too big but several pubs, restaurants, shops, a terrific 'wool' church, river/swans/Cotswold charm. And convenient to lots of places.
Second the suggestion of Burford!
