My wife and I made a rather last minute decision to see the new Andrew Lloyd Webber/Michael Crawford musical, 'The Woman in White' when we visit London in early September. I checked for tickets on both Ticketron and on Londontown.com. Both told me that there were no tickets available for the only performance that I was available for.
I tried a few of the third party sites, but I didn't want to pay twice the face value (or more) for the tickets.
On a lark, I went to the show's home site (womaninwhitethemusical.com), and clicked on the SEE Tickets button. The site at www.seetickets.com had plenty of tickets for the show. The service charge is only 1 pound per ticket over the official theatre price. I ordered two tickets online, and received them, here in the US, less than 1 week later. They even have a 'ticket tracker' button, to follow the progress of your ticket purchase.
I would highly recommend using this service to find tickets to shows in London.

joearena,
was there a service/shipping charge for the tickets?
Thanks
Thank you for this info! We are planning a trip to London and this will be very helpful. On our last trip I paid significantly over face value to get tickets for the performances we wanted.
Really good site! I just priced tickets there and also at the TKTS site on officaalLondontheater and they were comparable! But with this site one could have them in advance and avoid lines and the chance of not getting the show you want.
Many thanks!
To the person asking about a service charge - There is a one pound service charge, per ticket - that's all. We purchased two 20 pound tickets, and were charged 42 pounds, total. That included shipping to the states.
Have fun ............
My sister and I just got back from London-we decided that day to get tickets for a show. We just went to one of the many booths and picked up half price tickets for the show of our choice. We bought tickets for Saterday Night Live for 20 GBP. The show was terrific and I think we got a good deal because the original tickets usually sell for twice that price. Our seats were also very good seats. I would say this is the way to go - if you are flexible about which shows you want to see.
Thanks again for this site! I received our tickets today. They would have been 21.25GBP at TKTS ( I checked today's price on the London theater site, ) , I paid 22.50 plus 1.45 GBP postage. Sure beats waiting on line and then not having the tickets you want when you finally get to the booth! Saves time too..It was 6 days from the time I ordered them Friday night!
Joeareana,
excellent, excellent post. I just bought tickets for October.
Just wanted to tell you this was really helpful.
PS So, I'm assuming you're back. How was it?
Thanks!
