London, Paris, Venice and Rome with my son (12 years old)

I'm going on a 17 day trip this summer with my son. I want him to have fun and learn something too. Any good sightseeing tours or places we should visit in these cities that will be fun for him? Any reccommendations are appreciated!

Thanks,
Noni

Be sure to also stop off at Burano..the island of brightly painted houses..blue, green. yellow, red, pink,,etctetc...and little canals. He might also like the glass blowing on Murano. He'll get a kick out of just walkng all over Venice, crossing so many bridges...frequent gelato stops will please the both of You! Enjoy!

For London, check out London Walks - www.walks.com - for inexpensive, interesting walking tours.

What are your son's interests?

Thank you all! My son is a unique combination of sports jock and very smart kid who likes to learn if its somewhat kinetic for him. The art and architecture will be more interesting to him if he's able to touch and feel it, if you know what I mean. Great tip on the Gelato! He loves to eat!
