London Oyster Card vs Travel Card vs Single Ride Query

Jump to last reply

I am wondering if a prepay oyster card would be the right fit for my needs. I will be in London from Sept 5th to Sept 9th, a Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun and leave Monday. Because I have luggage I will not take the tube to/ from Heathrow Airport. I will be staying very near the Gloucester Road tube station. I have planned 2 coach day trips outside of London on Fri and Sat, and would need 1 tube ride at night from Victoria to Gloucester Road (zone 1) on those 2 nights. The other days are for sightseeing in London and will likely be mostly in zone 1. I have an early flight Mon, so really Thurs and Sun I will need transportation all day. I am looking for recommendations on my best option. Is Gloucester Road tube station the place to buy the prepay oyster card. I am not looking for any 2 for 1 as I am traveling solo or admission inclusives.

Thurs: All Day
Fri: 1 ride
Sat: 1 ride
Sun: All day
Mon; NONE
