London lodging
We will be in London for 4 nights prior to a trip to Berlin. We have been before 12 years ago and if I remember correctly we stayed near the British Museum and it seemed to be an okay area. What are some recommended areas and B &B's. We will be there in November. WE plan to visit the British Museum, Westminster Abbey, Tower of London and of course other sites. If I remember correctly the sub system was good.

looks like we will need to spend $200. at least. I have just written several in that area and I can not believe so far most are booked part of our stay. Morgan Hotel, Ridgemount , Arosfa, etc.

Those are very popular properties -- they are often booked up. Especially the Morgan.
Russell Sq is a good location, but there is really no reason to limit yourself to that area. The places you want to visit are spread all over the city so you can stay in lots of neighborhoods.
One to check out is B&B Belgravia which is about half way between Victoria station and Sloan Square.
But really - I'd go to londontown.com and enter your dates.

The Holiday Inn-Bloomsbury is wonderful as you can take the Piccadilly line straight from Heathrow without changing for about 6 pounds using an Oyster Card. The hotel is less than a short block walk from Russell Square station and is in a great area. It is across the street from a little mall area called Brunswick where there is a Waitrose grocery,Boots drugs,Atm's and various little shops and restaurants.
There is a wonderful old pub/restaurant directly across the street from the Holiday Inn and also the largest used bookstore in London.
My son lived in the area when he was attending graduate school at UCL and found it was close to the British Museum,British Library and to all points around London. I have paid anywhere from $125 to $155 depending the time of year.
Check out Tripadvisor.com as some of those cute inexpensive B and B's up by the museum and King's Cross have been written up with bad bedbugs. Just saying...
