As you might guess, I'm medium height, grey-haired and obese.

It's years since I've been in the Salisbury. I imagine it's physically unchanged: it's probably got more preservation orders slapped on it than Judy Dench. Its clientele, and their role in British society, most certainly has.

Thank you, Flanneruk and PatrickLondon for meeting with me Tuesday night. Was really wonderful to chat with you both, learn of your lives and visit a really pretty pub. That pear cider was stronger than the taste would suggest, but was a great way to spend my last night in England.

Can't wait to return, and hope we can repeat the get-together!
