London for the first time, which hotel is best?
My husband and I will be visiting London for the first time and are members of the Marriott Rewards program, so we will be staying in a Marriott. The 2 hotels that fit into our budget are about the same distance from the city center. I don't really know about either of these areas so I was just wondering if anyone had any advice about which hotel would be best/most convenient for visiting the main sites of London.
Here's the 2 hotels we're choosing from:
https://www.marriott.com/hotels/trav...-regents-park/
https://www.marriott.com/hotels/trav...el-maida-vale/
Thanks for your input!

www.tripadvisor.com as the reviews between the two might point you to one or the other (and might give you specific ideas of why someone liked or didn't like one or the other and what they found nearby)
www.tfl.gov.uk for the tube and bus routes available (use "journey planner" feature to see how you would get to some of your preferred locations for sightseeing or theater or whatever)
www.google.com/maps use address and "search nearby" feature (put in "restaurant" or "pizza" or "coffee shop" or whatever)
www.fancyapint.com search for pubs (with descriptions and ratings) by tube station (for the "Regents Park" Marriot it is Swiss Cottage, for the "Maida Vale" Marriot it is Kilburn Park)
I am not familiar with Maida Vale but Regents Park is quite nice and we enjoyed near there Primrose Hill area and in particular the Engineer restaurant/pub. London has many of the little "village" areas with cute shops and restaurants of which PH is one. If I did it again though I would take a pass on the zoo. (Expensive for what it is I thought but we are spoiled by the wonderful and free Lincoln Park Zoo we have here in Chicago.)

Thank you all, I was leaning toward the Regents Park hotel and based on your responses that seems to be the way to go.
We are using our points for these hotels and only have points enough for those hotels. Thanks everyone!
