London for 2 nights / 1 full day

I have been to London probably 5-6 times now... I am going to be working in the North at the end of Feb and am going to stay in London for 2 nights (1 full day in the city).

I am a 30 year old male... Love pubs and GOOD food. Plan to walk around and take the tube to places.

Will be flying out of Heath on the last day.

Will be staying in a Marriott (gotta earn them points).

So my questions is: What area should I stay that I am good to walk around, easy tube access and can find some nice pubs around the hotel.
