Has anyone seen the special London "Diamonds" exhibition in honor of the Jubilee-- at Buckingham Palace (I think...) I am wondering what you thought and how crowded it was. Recommend tix in advance? I'm also unclear-- do you pay for the exhibit without having to pay entrance to the palace?? Any help/advice appreciated.

The exhibition isn't separate - it is one part of the Palace summer opening. So you can't see it w/o visiting the Palace. You definitely should get tix in advance. All tickets are timed entry so it isn't a 'free for all' w/ masses crammed in. It will be crowded, but manageable.
A couple of Fodorites have reported about it and one even said it was better than the Crown Jewels at the Tower. That may be a stretch - but I'm sure it is an amazing exhibition.
thanks-- i looked at the buckingham palace site-- but it only listed the prices for the actual exhibit-- but thought maybe i'd have to also pay for the palace. will have to look up and find the total price before deciding on it. weird-- when i did a search for 'diamonds' 'exhibit' and 'jubilee' i didn't find it. have to remember to use the google search instead of fodors' search next time.
It is all one ticket --no extra cost for the diamonds . . .
