London Day Pass
London Day Pass for 3 days is 73 GBP with travel is it 100 GBP
3 days is just the amount of time I will be there - I plan to do the top attractions: The Tower and jewels, Westminster, St. Paul's and then a trip to Windsor - my other plans require no fees (I hope!): Covent Garden, Green Park, Trafalgar, Millennium, Borough Market, Hyde Park, Kensington Garden, Horse Guards, The Mall, etc
Shall I buy the pass for 100 GBP which also allows me to use the Underground, buses and trains, including the train to Windsor? or should I just get an Oyster Pass and pay to enter the sites I want to see?

Yes by far the cheapest best option - and investigate the 2 for 1 entry, if traveling with someone else - valid at nearly every paying site - many museums are free. for 2 for 1 you need a paper TravelCard or train ticket sold at a National Rail Station. If taking the train in from Gatwick (but not Heathrow it seems) you can then with that return ticket on paper get 2 for 1 at many sites.
But are you traveling alone?

Avoid the London Pass a huge waste of ££ and the travel option makes it even worse.
W/ just 3 days you very likely won't have time for a day trip to Windsor . . . that would eat up an entire day.
The discounts PQ mentions are ONLY relevant if there are two or more of you. You only mentioned "I" so I assume you will be solo.

We will be two - I have been many times, but for my sister it is her first visit - I did not know of 2 for 1 option but will investigate - sounds great!
You two have convinced me that the Day Passes are overpriced - so it be Oyster cards for us.

No, trains from LHR do not qualify.

Unfortunately Oystercards don't qualify either. Tell us more -- at which airport are you arriving (or station if coming by train)? Where are you staying? You will need a paper travel card to get the 2for1 discounts - these will get you the same travel as Oysters, but are sold in trains stations, not tube stations.
So tell us more and we can give you detailed advice/instructions.

No no no. The Pass is more than the retail price of the sites you want and 27 quid is far more than the per person cost of travel for zones 1-2, which is probably all you need.
Not Oyster cards either.
With two people, do this:
(1) Go to www.daysoutguide.co.uk and check out the 2for1 offers. Print out every voucher of interest. The Tower is always on this list, St. Paul's often is.
(2) [Does not apply for you because you need single-day cards].
(3) Go to the nearest National Rail station to your temporary abode and buy three single-day Travelcards for zones 1-2 for the days you'll be in London. Make your purchases at the NATIONAL RAIL ticket office, not the Underground ticket office. The National Rail ticket office will be on the same level as the omnipresent Boots and M&S Simply Food stores.
(4) Present said card and voucher at sites that participate in the 2for1 deals. These include the Tower, the War Rooms and Hampton Court Palace.
(5) Send me 10% of your savings by Paypal.
#5 is optional.
