Does anyone have any experience using London Guest Suites to book a flat/apartment? I thought I was all set with having to choose between the budget B&B and the pricey hotel that I've booked, and then came across a link for rentals, ended up on VRBO.com, Bridgestreet, Homelidays and finally London Guest Suites. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a never-ending cycle of click, click, click from sites to reviews to maps!! But this does seem like it is not only more economical, but more of an experience than staying in a hotel. Also, what is the best way to find out if a location is in a nice, safe neighborhood -- say if in Bloomsbury, are there any spots to avoid? Thanks!!

Bloomsbury should be fine - British Museum and a lot of university buildings - and nice and centreal. But you should check specific addresses with locals here. People renting apartments are sometimes quite elastic in locating their apartments in specific neighborhoods
London Guest Suites has been around for a long time and usually gets good reviews.
"Also, what is the best way to find out if a location is in a nice, safe neighborhood -- "
The best way really is to give us the post code or a link to the listing. Then we can tell you what the street (or sometimes the actual apartment/bldg.) is like. Between all the London-based Fodorites and some very frequent visitors, someone will likely know something . . .
Bloomsbury is very central and is convenient to everywhere including Heathrow. (if Bloomsbury is actually where the flat is - some owners 'play' w/ the truth a bit -- but LGS probably doesn't)
Thank you! I'm still sorting out what's available and what isn't, there was one on Sandwich Street in Bloomsbury that looked decent, actually a few there, and one in Southwark as well as a couple in Chelsea, which seems nice but maybe a bit out of my price range! I haven't heard back from LGS yet.
