London and Rome or just Rome

We will be in Europe this July. The plan is Paris 4 days, Rome 6 days, Santorini 4 days, and Athens 4 days. My question is, should we squeeze in London? So, instead of Rome for 6 days we would do London, right after Paris (flight is arriving in Paris so, that one is first) for 3 days and then fly into Rome for 2/3 days. I am inclined to leave the itinerary as it, however, many in our group, including my son, want to visit London. Thoughts?

Your trips is already very busy -- adding the largest city in Western Europe for just a couple of days really doesn't make sense to me.

Plan London for another trip . . .

I'd like to see how many nights will be spent in each location, rather than "days", a clearer gauge of the time you'll actually have. I doubt you could get a meaningful visit to London squeezed in without dropping something else. The thought of a smallish island in peak season is anathema to me so I'd nominate Santorini for the bin.

Squeeze in London by ditching Paris. It's the wise move.

can you tell us a bit more about your group and how exactly your time is organised? The question "do days actually mean nights?" is a good one.

Personally I wouldn't drop Paris for London, but I might be inclined to drop Santorini.

Thank you all for your input. Right, days do actually mean nights. I do believe we will stick to the original plan and leave London for another trip. I feel overwhelmed!

I think leaving London for another trip is wise. You have very limited time in the destinations you have chosen. Four nights in Paris is just three days. But you will have enough time in each place to get a small taste of the cities.

I definitely liked London better than Rome in terms of "things to do" but definitely preferred the food in Rome. But your trip already looks busy enough. I think doing London another time may be better. You could do weeks in England alone.

Plus, Rome Athens and Santorini are much closer together so travel time will be less. If you include London it will be further too.

Enjoy. My favorite was Santorini. I can't wait to go back one day.
