There are lots of churches in London. Do you want anything in particular? Vocal service, historical church, anything like that? Denomination at least would be useful (Anglican will be most of the churches, but just about anything can be found, from Southern Baptist to Russian Orthodox and anything else you can think of).

There's at least 107 churches in the City of London alone. In London as a whole tha such as goes up to over 2000 plus assorted other places where Christians worship such as schools, homes, community centres, the Dominion Theatre, Vinopolis & a multiplex theatre

For Anglican (like Episcopalian) churches, you can search the "A Church near you" website www.achurchnearyou.com
to find service times and other information (but you might want to email the church to check the information is up to date).
It's by no means comprehensive, and there don't seem to be many listings for London. If a church has taken the trouble to create an entry on this website, there's a reasonable chance they'll be friendly to visitors (though I don't mean that churches not on the list won't be friendly)!

This is a fair walk from where you are but we attended a mass at the Templar church and man was it cool. I know that it isin't the greatest description but it was cool. It is located in the law courts in London and is fairly close to St Pauls.

What denomination?
Anglican - Westminster Abbey, St Pauls Cathedral, St James Piccadilly, St Martins in the Fields, or a few hundred others
Catholic - Brompton Oratory, Westminster Cathedral, or several others. The Brompton Oratory is not far from your flat.
