Logistics in Turkey
I think I have an itinerary that works for us, so now I am getting into the details of planning each day and some Turkey logistics.
1) We will return the car at the Antalya airport – does anyone know how easy/complicated is to find the rental return area at the airport? I suppose it should be well marked, but I read quite a few reports of difficulties returning the car (although, nothing about Antalya)
2) Our driving itinerary will take us along the coast from Dalyan to Antalya. Are there any tolls on that road? If so, can we pay with a credit card, or do we need to make sure we have cash?
3) Generally, how widely accepted are credit cards in Turkey? I mean, restaurants, museums in Istanbul, points of interest in Ephesus, Cappadocia and Lycyan coast?
Thanks

2,3,) Ditto
1) Small Parking area in front of Airport. No marked area for car returns. Renter should give instructions beforehand and/or should find you; otherwise park car, walk in arrivals, find Avis or Hertz and tell them about your car and give them your car key; they are usually all friends.
points of interest may require cash. you may purchase museum card, if available, for multiple visits. Check on the web.

I do not know which maps show toll routes.
But basically, consider the following :
- Istanbul - Edirne Motorway
- Istanbul- Ankara Motorway
- Izmir -Aydin Motorway
- (Possibly) Izmir -Cesme Motorway
- Mersin- Pozanti Motorway
- Mersin - Adana Motorway
- Adana- Gaziantep Motorway
- Gaziantep - Urfa Motorway
- Both of the Bosphorus bridges in Istanbul
The ring roads around the major cities, connecting the motorways, although built to the same standards are toll free.
