lodgings in Rome

We will be staying in Rome just 2 nights in May, and would appreciate suggestions for lodgings that would be under $200 per night. We are 3 adults, who have visited the city before. Location, safety and cleanliness are what matters, since we know we won't get luxury at that price!

Are you wanting a certain location?

I assume you want a triple. That usually consists of a double bed and a single, the latter most likely meant for a child. Is this what you want?

That hasn't been my experience. Usually if you book a triple or quad, you get 3-4 single beds, no doubles.

You can look on Venere or Expedia for triples. Venere lets you search by area.

Couple and adult child, so either double and a single or 3 singles fine. Ideally we'd like to stay near Spanish Steps, but being near Vatican City is good too. We've been to Rome before, so as long as we are near to a transit line, we can stay anywhere safe. It would be a bonus if there were nice restaurants within walking distance.
