Location of Paris Hotel
We'll be in Paris for 4 days in June and chose the St. James and Albany to stay at. Seems like a good location. It's at 214 Rue de Rivoli, and we have found several tours online that leave from 202 Rue de Rivoli. SOunds close, but does anyone know if it actually is? Also, with such a short time there, we want to be as efficient as we can with our planned activities to leave time for wandering around!

Actually, I THINK you have that mixed up, cherie! The St. James & Albany is at 202 & the Paris Vision is at 214.
But here's a link for you ~ shows a picture & a map (www.pagesjaunes.fr). Just click on the British map in the upper right-hand corner. Type in the address of the hotel & Paris & it'll pull the info up for you.
Incidentally, you're not that far from one of the BEST Belle Epoque Tea Salons, Angelina, at 226 rue de Rivoli (and you're across from the Louvre). Angelina is famous for it's very decadent hot chocolate, le Africain. Mmmm. Lucky you, what a great locale. And afterwards, you can walk along the Jardin des Tuileries to work off those extra calories (such an easy thing to do in Paris)!
And you are VERY close. To go from 202 (between rue Saint-Roch & rue du vingt neuf Juillet) to 214 rue de Rivoli you walk west past rue du vingt neuf Juillet until you are almost to rue d'Alger.

You are right; I had them backwards. We chose this location because it was so close to the Louvre, and for whatever reason I got a decent deal on the price. Thanks for the other suggestions.

The address of your hotel is listed as 202, not 241. You are a couple of blocks down the street from the Louvre. There are a lot of great sights in this area and there is very good Metro and bus transportation nearby.

Looks like we posted in the same instant. If you walk up Rue de Rivoli to the Palais Royal Musee du Louvre Metro stop, you will come across the stop for the #69 city bus. You can ride this all the way to the Eiffel Tower [Champ de Mars], passing many sights along the way. From here, the #42 bus has another marvelous route and will take you back to near your hotel. Part of that route is down the Champs Elysses. Most tourists ride the Metro, but bus routes are posted at the stops and some have a lot of scenic opportunities.
