Location, location, location-is this Rome apt too close to Trevi Fountain?

We are considering this apt at about 140 Via Sistina - which looks to be about a block above or north of Trevi Fountain on the 4th floor. Arriving May 22 for five nights. What will the crowds be like around the fountain? Assuming we get up and out on a daily basis - will this be a problem? The apt looks very nice - how is the area? This is our first time in Rome.

Thanks for your help!

Hi

You've provided the link but what is the specific link for the apartment. The Trevi Fountain itself will be crowded as always (please watch your valuables, pickpockets are at work). I never found the streets near it any more crowded than the rest of Rome. The second half of May will be fantastic in Rome (we went in the first half). I had a look at Via Sistina on Google streetview. The street looks lovely. The location is perfect. If the price is right "lock it in". Sound like a game show

Really? Perfect location? I was afraid it wasn't. Thanks for taking the time to look at it for me. I think I will take it.

If you are concerned about the location in comparison to the Trevi fountain, then you should have little concern. The address of 140 via Sistina is accurate, then the location is an almost 10-minute walk from the hub-bub of the Trevi fountain, with the major street of via Tritone separating the apartment location from the Trevi. The apartment seems to be near Piazza Barberini, which is a major intersection, but via Sistina itself is not as busy, with posher shops since a few of Rome's fanciest hotels are on it, including the Hassler at the end by the top of the Spanish Steps.

We stayed very near there on our trip this May (I posted a long trip report) and walked on Sistina and Tritone repeatedly. There will be no crowd trouble at all. It's a good area.

Wow! This apartment is value for money. Spacious, well appointed and a lovely terrace too. Me thinks a bargain for €120 a night.

The apartment is a bargain if you are willing an able to climb to the Italian 4th floor (U.S. equivalent of 5th floor).

Oh my. That hotel is not near the Trevi fountain, it's near the Barbarini/Trevi Fountain METRO stop.

I stayed here last New Year's and the location is amazing. 5 minutes to the Trevi fountain but once you walk thru the doors, not a sound.
They are very reasonable price and great location.

Thank you for clarifying that Hollywood! I was confused about the markings on the map! It looks like two Trevi Fountains to me! Now it makes sense!

We are looking for an apartment for 4 - but I will take a look at that hotel.

We just stayed at this apartment in Rome last week:

2 bedrooms, 2 baths, great location, fabulous AC. Looks like it is available for your dates. We really liked it.
